If your putting together a radio spot, Facebook ad, or anything in between…ask yourself, what are you trying to accomplish with your ad. Are you promoting a lead-in product/service to increase exposure? Are you selling your expertise? Are you trying to steal market share? Are you solving a specific problem? All of these objectives are vastly different. And each requires the content of your ad to be concisely focused, where every word supports your main objective.
WHAT ARE YOU ASKING YOUR CUSTOMER TO DO?
Your call-to-action needs to be aligned with your objective. It could be visiting a landing page or your website, it could be to set an appointment, or maybe call your business. Whatever works best for your specific goal, make sure you are measuring that goal, and not something else. For example, if your call-to-action goal is to call, track not only how many calls came in to your business because of your ad, but how many of those calls turned into sales!
WHAT TYPE OF AD SHOULD I RUN?
Step back and think through 1) your service area, 2) your competition, 3) investment cost, and 4) estimated return needed to substantiate your investment.
